Olil came back last weekend for another great clinic. It was all private lessons and that was 10 of us riding. We all learned a lot from her again this year. She promised to come back next year and if you are interested in participate in the next clinic keep checking our event calendar for dates.

CIA OPEN FALL...

This past weekend Flying C Ranchy hosted another CIA Open at their ranch and it was a small show but very successful. We had over 20 horse and rider combinations and over 30 people came to the pre show BBQ on Friday night. Rune came from Norway to be our judge. It was a real international show, we had riders from Germany, Sweden, Iceland and the US participating. Very fun weekend. Of course there are many people to thank including Doug and Gayle, Willy Ma, Heather and everyone for coming to partake in our show.

World Championships 2009...

CIA member Ásta D. Bjarnadóttir-Covert and Dynjandi frá Dalvík made A-Finals at the World Championships in T1 and V1. The ended 3rd in T1, 4th in V1 and 2nd in Fourgait combination. Dynjandi had the best slow tölt of the whole competition and the pair made history for the US involvement with FEIF.

Mountain Icelandic Farm Show will be held in Watsonville at Mountain Icelandic Farm September 19-20. This is a USIHC sanctioned event. For more info contact Annette at annette@mountainicelandics.com

Then November 7-8 will be another USIHC Sanctioned Show at Flying C Ranch in Santa Ynez, CA. For more info contact Asta at asta@tolt.net

Then there is an Olil Amble Clinic at Flying C Ranch in Santa Ynez December 11-13. It is all private lessons from Friday thru Sunday. To sign up contact Asta Covert at asta@tolt.net

World Championships...

Two CIA Members are riding at this years World Championships. Anne-Marie will ride Húni frá Torfunesi in T2 and Ásta D. Bjarnadóttir-Covert will ride Dynjandi frá Dalvík in T1 and V1.

Anne-Marie has been on the team in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007 and now 2009. Ásta has been on the team in 2005, 2007 and now 2009.

CIA Open Spring 2009...

The CIA Open had a great turnout. We had riders from all over California. Stina and Steinar brought a large group of horses and riders like always and we also had a big group from the Kraftur club. Doug and Gayle were a great help like always and Þorgeir was very helpful with his comments along with his scores. We had 6 girls competing in the Advanced youth class and we allowed them all to ride finals and they all did a great job and it was very fun to watch how far our youth has come a long.
